Updates and such...

Once again it seems like it has been a while since I've posted. When I think I'll sit down and type up something, Sara gets aggravated or its time for another feeding session - then after that I just seem to forget about it. I am going to try and get back into the swing of things with my blogging. I know I've said this before. I hope I haven't lost any readers - if so I understand why. Anyways, it is pretty much the same ol' same ol' around here. It is getting so hot here and it is only going to get even hotter. I was looking at the 10 day forecast for next week and it is supposed to be around 107F - 109F. That is damn hot!!!!

We only have 3 a/c's in this house - 1 of which is in my FIL/MIL's bedroom. Our kitchen is pretty small - nothing to get excited about and there is absolutely no circulation going on in there. I told Shakil once the heat kicks in - I'm done with the cooking. I can't stand there cooking with sweat running down my back and pouring off my face. I'm so hot natured - always have been and I am seeing that Sara is too - just like Mommy in that aspect.

Our bedroom stays pretty cool with the a/c and very cool at night which is when I want to feel the coolest. Today I was giving Sara a bath and I was just sweating and sweating. Of course there is no a/c in our restroom and it was just so hot and felt very humid. Then when I get her out I can't just turn on the fan since she is all wet and drying off.

This evening I was cutting up some fresh veggies to make a salad which btw turned out very nice and I made the mistake of cooking dal at the same time. So the heat from the dal and the heat in the kitchen just made me so hot. My entire back was wet by the time I finished and Shakil was ready to go out for a drive. I had to reshower again because I just felt disgusting. That is how it is here. When it gets unbearably hot you have to shower at least 2 times a day - it's a must! We did go out for that drive and picked up a dvd to watch and also picked up some chicken kababs to take home. They were very tasty! :-)

My FIL/BIL have migrated back over to this house because there is no a/c over at the other house. Yes, you read that right no a/c. MIL came over last night (FIL forced her to) and boy oh boy did it spark up some tension between she and I. I just don't like it when my MIL comes over here because she starts bitching from the moment she walks in the door. She always and I repeat ALWAYS has to say that the house is filthy. You know the reason she says this crap because SHE didn't clean it. She thinks that if she didn't clean it - it's filthy. We have a 24 hour servant that does all of our cleaning and I see her do it everyday. I even go back and check what was done and if it's not done appropriately - she has to do it again. We even have her cleaning twice a day now because of so much dust that manages to get inside.

To make a VERY long story short - my MIL went back to the other house. She can be so disrespectful sometimes. It's as if she really doesn't think before she says something. Sheesh. I know everyone can be like this at one time or another - you just say something without realizing what you really said but with my MIL....it's very regular.

In other news - very good news, my favorite topic - Sara is growing like a little weed. It is so neat to watch her, listen to all of her googly sounds. When we lay her down on her back she really gets going with making all sorts of noises. She just laughs outloud and it's precious. The smile she gives us just makes our day. I've posted some new pics of her.

Until later...

Bye for now.

Finally heard something...

Yes, we have heard at least something about Shakil's immigration case. Shakil filed the I-601 waiver along with my hardship letter they request of why I need Shakil in the U.S. with me in July of last year and we hadn't heard shit since he filed it. Today my Mom informed me she got a letter in the mail from the Department of Homeland Security. They are the ones that review the waiver and approve or disapprove. This waiver will waive Shakil's visa overstay. We were informed that his waiver has been sent to DHS in Rome, Italy for adjudication. For any of you who are reading this thinking "what the hell is she talking about?" We filed to get Shakil back to the U.S. 2 years ago - so hearing something can make us feel somewhat hopeful. It's been a long, long process. They also are requesting a copy of Sara's birth certificate showing Shakil and I as her parents. We have 30 days from April 4th to get the requested information to them. So say a little prayer that this whole ordeal is coming to an end SOOOOOOOOOOON! Shakil, Sara and I would LOVE to return back to the U.S. and began a normal life together.

Until later...

Bye for now.

What day is it?

You know I hardly even know when my day starts or when end it ends hence why I haven't blogged. I'm down right exhausted! I really thought things would start to get easier but they seem to be getting harder!!! Baby Sara just turned 2 months old on the 2nd and she has managed to pick up an entirely different sleeping schedule.

It's about 9 a.m. here on what day I think is Thursday and I've been up the ENTIRE night. Ok, not just me but Shakil as well. I don't know how Sara's pattern has gotten so screwed up. Sara will go to bed about 8 a.m. and wakes up for her feeds and then I change her diaper, etc. and she is right back to sleep again. This goes on until about 7 p.m. in the evening. She usually starts to get cranky in the evenings but we've increased her feeds in the evening and that seems to have solved that but she is still up allllllllll night and I'm not exaggerating!! So how do you break the vicious cycle because it's wearing me out. I've been told to sleep when she sleeps but that is hard to do during the day when I have other things to do. Is it possible to break the cycle? Do I just not worry about it? What to do!?!?!

In other news, last night Shakil took me out for my birthday dinner. (B-day is on the 9th but Shakil was off last night so we went). I guess I should share that I will be turning the big 3-0. YIKES!! We went to a local restaurant here called "The Village" - it's a Pakistani buffet. I've been there before but last night was exceptionally tasty. I of course over indulged in the sweets they have there and I managed to scarf down 6 - maybe 7 - galub jamins. I'm a sucker for 'em! They are so good! I'm determined to try Lindsey's recipe for them.

Oh and we took Sara in for her 2 month check up and she weighs in now at 4.5 kg (with clothes on) which is about 9 1/2 pounds. Cutie is getting so big now! Hard to believe she was just a little over 6 pounds when she was born and has really blossomed now. It's just wonderful! Now if I could get her to sleep when she's supposed to......

Shakil is starting a new schedule at work and I'm just ticked off about it. He'll be going into work at 9 p.m. and not coming home until 6 a.m. So I'll be home allllll night alone with Sara. Shakil has been helping me at night and it has helped me immensely. I won't have that now! So Shakil and Sara will soon be on the same sleeping schedule with day sleeping.

Ok, I'm so sleepy now I've got to try and catch some sleep while Sara is asleep.

Hope that everyone who reads is doing well!

Until later...
